Cheryl’s journey with 5N2 began in 2019, sparked by her niece’s enthusiastic stories about the organization. Eager to contribute, Cheryl found in 5N2 the perfect outlet for her desire to help her community.
“My niece was a chef at 5N2 and shared so many wonderful experiences. I knew I had to be a part of it,” Cheryl said. “Volunteering here felt like the right thing to do.”
From her first day, Cheryl’s commitment was evident. She started by helping out (in the kitchen) every Wednesday, where she quickly became a familiar and friendly face. In November of last year, she expanded her involvement by joining the 5N2 Farm team, dedicating her Mondays to tasks like seeding, transplanting, and cleaning in the onsite hydroponic facility.
“There’s something incredibly fulfilling about working on the farm,” Cheryl said. “Knowing that what we do helps provide fresh produce to those in need keeps me motivated.”
Cheryl’s dedication goes beyond just the tasks at hand. She plays a crucial role in fostering a supportive and welcoming environment for both the recipients of 5N2’s services and her fellow volunteers. Her passion for the cause is infectious, encouraging others to get involved and make a difference.
“Volunteering at 5N2 isn’t just about giving food; it’s about building a community and offering hope,” Cheryl explained. “I love seeing the impact we have, and it brings me so much joy to be a part of this team.”
Cheryl’s story is a testament to the power of community service. Her unwavering dedication and positive spirit have made her an integral part of 5N2. She encourages anyone considering volunteering to take the plunge.
“If you’re thinking about volunteering, you should definitely do it,” Cheryl urged. “It’s an incredibly rewarding experience, and you’ll be helping to make a real difference in people’s lives.”
Thanks to volunteers like Cheryl, 5N2 continues to support and uplift the community. Her story is an inspiring reminder of the impact one person can have through dedication and kindness.
