George joined 5N2 as a volunteer in November 2023, driven by his  strong desire to give back to his community. As a retiree with time on his hands, George wanted to find meaningful ways to contribute and make a difference.

“When I retired, I realized I had some extra time to do different things,” George shared. “Joining the 5N2 team was a perfect opportunity to do something valuable.”

From the beginning, George’s motivation was clear: to help those in need. He understood the growing issue of food insecurity and the vital role that organizations like 5N2 play in addressing this challenge. George became an integral part of the team, not just in helping in the 5N2 Kitchen but also in co-creating solutions to better serve the community.

“Our main purpose is to encourage others to come and help because there’s a real need,” George said. “A lot of people are hungry and need our support. It’s not just about giving them food; it’s about providing hope and building a stronger community.”

For George, volunteering with 5N2 is more than just a task; it’s a mission. He sees it as an opportunity to sort   out food, ensure people have access to fresh produce, and contribute to the overall well-being of those around him. “It’s about giving back, sorting out food for people to eat, and making sure everyone has what they need,” he said.

George encourages new volunteers to join the cause, emphasizing the importance of community involvement. “It’s all about giving back and supporting our roots. More than that, it’s about providing food for people, making sure they have access to essentials.”

George’s commitment to 5N2 has made a significant impact, and his story serves as an inspiration to others. He continues to be a dedicated volunteer, always ready to lend a hand and share a smile.
