Mexican Coriander (Sawtooth Coriander)

Mexican Coriander has long, serrated leaves and a bold, aromatic flavour similar to cilantro, with earthy notes and a lingering citrus finish.
Use it when you want a robust herb that adds authentic flavour to soups, curries, marinades, and everyday cooking.

Why you’ll love it

  • Freshness: Harvested, cut, and packed when you place an order
  • Hyperlocal: Grown in Scarborough for pickup or local delivery
  • Clean: Hydroponic, soil-free, and grown in a controlled indoor system
  • Flavour: Bold, aromatic flavour with notes of cilantro, citrus, and earthiness
  • Colour: Long, deep green leaves with distinctive serrated edges
  • Best for: Pho, soups, curries, stews, marinades, salsas, rice dishes, and Caribbean, Latin American, and Southeast Asian cuisine

Best ways to use Mexican Coriander

Slice the leaves finely and stir them into soups, curries, stews, or noodle dishes for bold, aromatic flavour.
Use fresh in salsas, dipping sauces, herb pastes, marinades, or salad dressings.
Add it to pho, Vietnamese noodle soups, Caribbean pepper sauces, rice dishes, and braised meats.

Since Mexican Coriander is more robust than cilantro, it can added during cooking while still retaining much of its flavour. Fresh leaves may also be added just before serving for the brightest aroma.

Mexican Coriander pairs especially well with garlic, ginger, lime, chilli, coconut milk, fish sauce, Puerto Rican sofrito, Trinidadian green seasoning, Latin American soups, and Southeast Asian noodle dishes.

Why hydroponic Mexican Coriander

Hydroponic growing uses a water-based nutrient system instead of soil. This helps keep the crop clean, controlled, and close to the community.
Since we grow locally in Scarborough, travel time from harvest to pickup or local delivery is reduced.

Indoor hydroponic growing can also support careful water use because water and nutrients are managed in a controlled system.
For customers, that means fresh local herbs grown with care, consistency, and less dependence on long-distance supply chains.

Freshness Tips

  • Rinse only before use
  • Snip only what you need to maintain freshness
  • Keep refrigerated with the roots or stems lightly hydrated, and keep the leaves dry
  • Store upright in a loosely covered container or produce bag to help reduce moisture loss
  • If the leaves begin to wilt, trim the ends of the stem and place them in cool, clean water for 10 to 20 minutes before use
  • Pat the leaves dry before serving
  • Use within 5 to 7 days for the best flavour and aroma
